The report presents insights on global approaches to the regulation of alternative finance covering peer-to-peer lending, equity crowdfunding and initial coin offerings. Topics include specific regulatory requirements and permissible activities, trends in supervision of alternative finance, regulatory innovation and future trends including regulators’ interest in technical support and global data as they move forward with regulation of this industry. This report and related work conducted with the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance over the past year was recognized in June 2019 with the Trailblazer Award, presented by the Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS). The Trailblazer Award recognizes a collaborator who exemplifies the School’s commitment to innovation, thought leadership, and real-world impact, and that shares CJBS’s excitement about the “business of transformation”.
