Dato' Dr Tengku Aizan Hamid holds a PhD in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Gerontology from Iowa State University. She founded the Institute of Gerontology at Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2002 and led it until 2020. From 2021 to 2023, she served as a research fellow at the rebranded Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing. A leading expert in ageing and social policy, she is a fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and The World Academy of Sciences. She serves on various national and international committees, including the HAPI Award selection committee (Japan), and is affiliated with the National Transfer Accounts global network and the Asia-Pacific Consortium on Active Ageing. She joined the Private Pension Administration as an independent director in 2019 and became Chair of the Board in July 2024. In 2022, she was honoured as
