Alvin Chia is the Head of Digital Assets Innovation for Asia Pacific at Northern Trust. He leads the development of market-leading innovations aligned with Northern Trust’s digital asset strategy. Alvin also drives Northern Trust’s interactions with fintechs, industry bodies, regulators, and government agencies to shape market developments in line with the organization’s strategic direction.

With over a decade of experience in innovation leadership, Alvin has held senior roles across consulting and financial services. Prior to Northern Trust, he was the Expert Senior Manager of Innovation at Bain and Company, where he advised Fortune 500 leaders on achieving their strategic transformation goals. Before that, he served as Vice President of Innovation at DBS Bank, where he co-created numerous flagship digital products and services across Asia.

Alvin holds a PhD from the College of Design and Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and is also an alumnus of Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
