Gerard has held various senior positions across business, product and operations within the post trade landscape, both on the sell-side and buy-side and brings with him more than 15 years of capital and financial markets experience. He started his career as a custody specialist and fund accountant, offshoring functions from developed markets to Malaysia.
He then managed middle office functions for one of the largest fund managers in Malaysia before joining a foreign bank to lead its fiduciary business prior to joining Standard Chartered in 2022.
As the head of Financing & Securities Services for Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad (“SCBMB”), Gerard is responsible for the post-trade business of the bank in Malaysia which offers custody and fund services, amongst others to domestic and foreign financial institutions.
He was also appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Director for SCBMB Trustee Berhad, a wholly owned subsidiary under SCBMB Group, on 14 September 2022 which offers fiduciary services to the capital market participants in Malaysia.
