Su Yen is a banking and financial services Asian Government Affairs and Public Policy veteran.
She collaborates with Asia regional policymakers and regulators to envision a fit-for-purpose robust policy eco-system for virtual asset service providers.
Su Yen was previously appointed as Euroclear Bank’s Deputy CEO and authorized bank officer for the HK Branch. While taking on the responsibility of Deputy CEO, she continued with her duties as the Asia Head of Strategy and Government Affairs where she actively engaged with government authorities in various Asian countries to promote secure cost-efficient solutions for cross-border capital flows into Asia’s financial markets. Prior to Euroclear Bank, Su Yen served as the Head of Government Relations, Asia Pacific, for Barclays Bank and Vice-President of Public Policy for Credit Suisse AG. She also had responsibilities for Asia Client Management Services while she was with Credit Suisse AG.
As a graduate student, Su Yen underwent an attachment with the United Nations Development Program, NY office where she constructed the analytical framework for the Millennium Development Goals (the forebearer of the Sustainable Development Goals). Whilst at the UNDP, she worked with the Assistant Secretary - General of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific in preparing relevant reports used by member countries for suitability assessment in program funding.
Su Yen began her banking career in New York City with postings in Hong Kong and Singapore. She is a graduate of the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a Sasakawa Fellow.
